I have been making art for as long as I can remember. At home, school, work, and now at my main studio in the Sunnyslope neighborhood of Phoenix, I am making art in one form or another. Being a lifelong pursuit, my art is an intrinsic part of my identity.
I think and communicate best visually. Since it is the quickest way for me to understand or explain something, I use art as a way to communicate and build social connections. Through art, I feel comfortable sharing who I am and what is important to me.
I am a firm believer that the purpose of art is to connect people. It is a communication between artist and viewer. When I paint, I am hoping that I can spark an emotional response, a reaction, a shared (or contrasting) belief in the viewer.
